Hi! We are Sophie Cuffia and Richard Dell'aiera, two image-makers & visual artists.

Before founding Souffle, we developed our first personal series within the independent contemporary photography scene. Today, Souffle is a multidisciplinary creative studio working at the crossroads of artistic experimentation and commissioned work.

Photography and film quickly became our language.

In our early years, Sophie started to explore the infra-ordinary, family archives, and the visual ruptures inherited from Godard, through watercolor hues. Richard's approach questioned our collective cinematic memory. He captured the fragments of moods and colors of a generation raised with the television always on, relentlessly experimenting with digital hybridizations to bring new forms to the surface.When we created Souffle in 2017, we wanted to see what happens when our two worlds collide, and turn it into a signature.

Whether for an emerging brand or a global icon, we apply the same high aesthetic standards and the same authorial vision.

Driven by an urge that has never left us: to play with visual codes and their elasticity, using light and colour as narrative tools. Over time, our practice has shifted from still life toward filmmaking, until building complete cinematic worlds became our new playground.

Today we direct both the camera and the image augmented by AI, to extend our worlds without ever betraying our eye. The result is a sensitive, sensory approach to the image, so that it is not only seen, but felt.
